WHAT WE DO AS MENTORS
Mount Might High School Students with their College Mentor (Rhiana) 09-28-12
We motivate and encourage our high school students to pursue higher education and we express the value of reaching new heights. With socio-economic and educational challenges, our efforts are to educate, interact, and support students with various activities that could bring them one step closer to ensuring a successful upbringing. We provide fun team-building activities, goal setting, one-on-one mentoring, a visit to a local attraction, a tour of SDSU, and much more.
Our goal is to connect with students at a more personal level in order to make a difference.
FALL 2012 - Mount Miguel High School
Students visit the SDSU Campus 10-26-12
A total of 17 SDSU hospitality students took on the significant role of becoming mentors, providing outstanding to a set of 38 sophomore students. Our program consisted of four meetings throughout the fall semester in which each session incorporated different activities and learning experiences the students participated in. Each mentor was assigned 1-2 students to get to know on a more personal level in order to better advise them and encourage each of their unique aspirations.
